We started Akali Antwerp with one person, one city, and one obsession.
Sophie, our founder, grew up right here in Antwerp, surrounded by fashion, creativity, and an eye for detail most people overlook. For her, a bag was never just a bag. It was the thing that pulled an entire look together or quietly ruined it.
That obsession never left her. So instead of waiting for someone else to get it right, she built it herself.
From idea to icon
We asked ourselves a simple question when we started: why is it so hard to find a bag that's both beautiful and actually useful?
Sophie couldn't find what she was looking for. A bag big enough for real life, without sacrificing the look. So she designed it. Then she designed another one. And another.
That's how Akali Antwerp was born. Every bag in our collection comes from that same starting point: functional, considered, and made for women who don't slow down.
A brand on the move
We've built something we're genuinely proud of. A community of thousands of women across Belgium, the Netherlands, and beyond, who believe style and functionality should never be a compromise.
Sophie still leads every collection with that original vision. We design around your life, not the other way around. And every time we ship an order from Antwerp, that feeling is in the package.
